Random Radio Recollection:

This astounding bit of reductive reasoning leapt back into my consciousness through the discovery of Bruce's weekly radio show on BBC 6 Music, my new favorite at-work listening experience. Other DJs include Steve Lamacq (cutting loose from his more scripted Radio1 efforts), Tom Robinson (of "2-4-6-8 Motorway" fame), and Marc Riley (yes, that Marc Riley formerly of the Fall and the Creepers). Hearing these folks has me really missing the on-air studio. I think it's the ability to be "professional" and exceptionally competent without being cheesy -- not that I was anywhere near this level, but it's certainly the ideal I aimed for as a DJ.
